Lasers are a less invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser results in less pain, less bleeding and less swelling. It reduces the risk of infection and results in less post-operative discomfort.
Digital x-rays - produce higher quality information in a fraction of the time that traditional x-rays would. This revolutionary technology combined with other diagnostics such is ultrasound and laboratory tests allows our veterinarians to gain a level of detail and information which was previously unattainable. Digital x-ray is used to evaluate broken bones, dental disease, cancer, heart problems, gastric and intestinal problems, kidney and bladder stones, and many other conditions.
Ultrasound - This non-invasive technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the abdominal organs and the heart. Pregnancy exams are also available.
Video Scope - This tapered instrument uses a lens to examine ears, eyes, teeth and more with crystal clear magnified images of internal structures. The video scope is a visual aid during some surgical procedures.
Laboratory Service
We have a full service in-house laboratory where we conduct blood tests which help our doctors determine causes of illness more accurately, safely, and quickly. Our lab also aids us in monitoring the progress of medical treatments. Blood tests are important in evaluating pets that are older or exhibit symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea or toxin exposure. Blood tests also monitor pets receiving long-term medications and are used as health check before anesthesia.
In addition, we are partnered with Idexx Laboratories. Most tests are completed and results are available in less than 24 hours.
Immunization and Wellness - We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. Money spent on preventive care translates into long-term savings and extends the life of your pet. Our wellness programs begin with a comprehensive physical exam. Specialized blood tests for all life stages are available as needed. Spaying, neutering and vaccination programs are tailored to each pet. We also offer heartworm, Lyme, and parasite testing and prevention programs.
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth and overall health. Proper cleaning of the teeth requires complete cooperation of the patient. We use modern and safe ultrasonic equipment to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. General anesthesia is usually necessary. We use the safest available combination of intravenous and gas anesthetics to further enhance safety, pre-anesthetic blood testing is sometimes indicated. Dental procedures include but are not limited to cleaning and polishing, extractions, gingival surgery, radiographs, extractions, growth removal, antibiotics and home care.
We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. We have fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet. We are equipped with ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitors and a technician that monitors anesthesia for every patient undergoing surgery. We are able to perform a varied range of surgeries including soft tissues and orthopedic procedures.
